Sometimes I talk to myself when there are other people around. I think Gandalf said it best: "...I was talking aloud to myself. A habit of the old: they choose the wisest person present to speak to; the long explanations needed by the young are wearying."
I'm not old myself, but sometimes I need to talk to someone but don't feel like explaining how I got from one topic to another.
Also, I sometimes make sound effects.
